Among these criteria the most important for maintenance of confidence to the exhibition industry and for advantage of the clients is audit of exhibition statistics.
The TV and printed mass-media spend audit for a long time. It supports their positioning when business concerns struggle for the size of their fraction in the clients’ advertising budget. Absolutely clearly, that than more than the confirmed statistics the industry can give – that is better we can position exhibitions in this "struggle".
Statistical data about exhibitors quantity, the netto areas of exhibitions, quantity of visitors or visitings, foreign exhibitors and visitors obviously have a value for organizers. But they also are a base element during decision-making by exhibitors, visitors and even local and regional authorities. UFI Events Approval always designated its quality – and we can prove it statistical data confirmed by audit.
We know that unchecked figures of statistics appear exaggerated too often. They show uncertainty and confusion of visitors and exhibitors minds. How it is possible to compare with confidence «apples and oranges»? Recently the government of France has made the unprecedented decision demanding audit and certification of all exhibitions, spent in the country.
At the same time carrying out of audit is not single action. UFI demands carrying out of the regular control and over some months we shall again collect audited statdada of the events with UFI sign.
UFI urgently recommends the members to spend audit of all exhibitions. All of us we shall be the winner when audit becomes the international norm. For now, at least, UFI and our members will build a way to this direction.
